11 June 2008, morning 7:30am, i receive a call from our travel agent letting us know it’s almost time to board our flight. So we travel to Penang International air port and boarded our flight firefliz which was going to fly at 10:50am came in late 40 minutes and we waited until around 11:30am only can board the plane.
After 1 hour flight, we reached our destination at 11:45am Thailand time which is 1 hour slower than Malaysia time. After checking out from the air port, our tour guide Ms Sow who is a thai can speak madarin was there waiting for us with our names on a notice board. So first thing after the rough landing of firefliz was to head direct to the hotel and get an hour rest before lunch. As there was only me and my girlfriend on this tour so Ms Sow took us to the hotel with a Toyota Vios which was nice and comfortable.
After checking in and had the rest , our room is just beside the pool so i went on having a swim after hour an hour nap.
At around 2pm we took off to have our lunch. Ms Sow waited for us in the hotel during our rest and directly drove us to a traditional thai food stall, i won’t say it’s a restaurent because it’s like the road side malay stall in malaysia where we normally have teh tarik and nasi lemak, but all the food ordered was really great. It was the true thai cooked food and it was really spicy. I can take chilli directly back in Malaysia but continuosly eating the hot thai food is even more spicy than taking chilly. On our menu we had the below dishes:
1. Fried Pork Skin - nice and chrispy
2. Spicy Vege salad- this was already hell spicy if you keep eating
3. bbq pork neck - this was great, the least spicy dish that we had a great pleasure enjoying, something like malaysia cha siew but the meat is more tender.
4.This is chicken meat with vege, extremely spicy and tasty.
Overall all the dishes are real traditional thai dishes and it was really great!
After lunch, we went around the town of Phuket. It’s at the middle part of the island, our tour guide took us to the usual tour spot for souvenir buying, including key chains, gifts, casewnuts and others. So we bought some souvenirs back for friends and contributed to the thailand tourism industry spending around RM150 overall. RM80 on souvenir and RM70 on casew nuts and other tidbits and drinks.
Later we went back to hotel at around 4pm and rested for another 2 hours till around 6pm. Our tour guide again waited in the hotel while we slept for 1 and half hours and took bath get fully rested for later program.
At around 6pm, we went sent to 1 of the major tour destination on our trip, the ‘fantasea’ show’.
THe show plus buffet dinner cost RM175 per person but it was worth it. THe show is rank No.4 worldwide and is the one and only of it’s kind in thailand. The theme park was great. But this show after viewing once there is no need for 2nd time. It worth a view once!
Going through the theme park with animals such as snakes, tigers, frugs, elephants and birds took us 1 hour, then we went for our dinner and the buffet ends at 8:30pm and it was going to the show which starts at around 9pm. The dinner is a international buffet but to me, it was only 70% out of 100. Not that good as others has comment. But the dining area design was great.
It’s wacky but fun and very professionally done. Ariel trapeze artists, elephants on stage and pyrotechnics combine in a Las Vegas-style show. You’ll see nothing else like it anywhere on the planet. Combining Thai traditional myths with humour, fantasy and a loose plotline that keeps getting more and more amusing, FantaSea’s extravaganza is a highly entertaining and riveting show.

After the show which was awsome. We came out from the castle like theatre and took photograph with elephants that has performed in the show feeding them with bananas and sugar cane. Then we stroll slowly out from the theme park towards exit and collect our camera and handphone which was prohibited from taking into the show.
Later we went to get ourselves some drinks and snack and then head back to hotel to rest.
12th June 2008
We woke up 7:30am by hotel morning call and get ourself ready for breakfast. Then our tour guide came to pick us up at around 8:30am, we headed off to go to coral island which required a transfer to get to the jetty and get a speed boat ride to the island. As usual island activities included parashooting, jet skiing, speed boat driving, diving but 1 of the specialty here is under water sea walk with a special head mask.
We didn’t go for all of the activities and we don’t recommend you to go if you have been to Redang, Perhentian or Lang Tengah. WHy is because the phuket beach side water is no crystal clear, some more it rained morning when we went and it was actually milky color. The other group that went together on same speed boat came back from diving and underwater sea walker claiming they can’t see anything because of milky water. Lucky us
So after the morning trip we head on direct to the next main event for the trip for me. Real gun shooting!!! It was 1 of the most awsome experience , to fire and hold different real guns that i couldn’t do in Malaysia. I rented one 7mm hand gun, 1 light weight snipper and one 32 mm magnum(my dream gun). So went on shooting in the shooting range.
I only scored 51% for 7mm hand gun and snipper. Hand gun had a overdrive back when you open fire, it supprised me during first shot. But the feeling was great. I thought overburst would be the same with snipper but nothing of that sort. The snipper was easy to shoot, no overburst and easy to aim as well with the scope.
My score for using magnum was great, result improved every bullet i shot and i hit bulleye at the end. total score was 71% out of 100%. For magnum the overburst was as if your whole arm was pulled up by a bull. I just couldn’t press it down firing shots. But after getting used to it, i really like the feeling and aiming better each shot.
The total bill was RM230 for total 30 bullets. Magnum cost RM10 per bullet while the snipper and handgun cost RM7 per bullet. But it’s a must try experience.
Later it was another tour destination which is ok and normal for me the Wat Cha Long temple.
At around 4:30pm we head out for our 3rd main event for the journey, a full body spa in phuket. This was a full 3 hour spa and the greatest experience i had with massage. It was really like being in heaven. We had a private room with private bath and shower place. But the greatness came in the process. The tour guide took us here which the place was called ‘Mermaid Spa’. 1st 15 minutes is sauna, then another 10 minutes of jecuazi, later came the main part. We had a private room just for me and my girlfriend with 2 therapist which are 2 young ladies of below 20s. I thought with that little hand, they won’t have the strenght to last another 2 and a half hours but i was really wrong.
the 1st hour came the scrubbing and massaging on of sea weed to my back and front body, my girl friend chose the rose scrub. It was really great, she scrub my whole body except my private part. All the process was done through a thin piece of cloth which is taken up part by part depending on which part she was scrubbing. This scrub and massage process took me to 1st hour of heaven and half sleeping state. After that we were told to shower off the the scrub. Then next was 2nd layer of scrub and milk was added to our body. After completion, they went on with full body massage. Finishing of the 2nd half hour, they started also face massage with putting on different lotion that felt great. Then finishing off all the therapy we were left in the room for 15 minutes or more which i forgotten as i went off sleeping, and my girl friend told me that i snoored during my sleep. Later we were told to take another shower to clean ourself up and go on we 3rd layer treatment with jasmine oil. It was again massage with oil treatment. In actual fact, i really felt in love with the 2 hands that massage and scrub me for the 3 hours. There was face massage and head massage. The total treatment was so great that when they finish, i was satisfied from toe to head. Every inche of my body relax! Pity we were so relax and had such a great time that i forgotten to take any photo. The treatment cost us RM180 per person, worth the price!
So when we finish i think it was already coming to 8pm night time and we went on for our dinner which was included in the package. I thought that they would bring us out for hawker food like other packaged tour but it was another great tour restaurent that gave us great pleasure in dining the finest thai traditional food.
Dinner time came and the 1st dish was squid salad, spicy and tasty, it was a great start for more to come.
2nd dish was green curry chicken with green vege. Great flavor, mild hot at the beginning but after it reach your throat you feel the heat going down. And it slowly burns up fire in our mouth. But great to go down with the rice.
Our finale dish was the seafood otak which was otak with all kindof seafood inside. Great with rice as well.
After dinner, Ms Sow took us to the famous patong, where we went shopping and hagging out phuket night life. I ended up with interest with bug snack and some local snack and a lot of beer back to the hotel.
Great way to end the night! Fully rested, relax and happy!
